Taradale Playcentre is an inclusive and friendly centre in the Napier suburb of Taradale, and we would love to welcome you and your tamariki to our family.
We run sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 09:00-12:00pm, and our well-resourced centre and outdoor area allows for countless opportunities for play – wherever your child’s interest and imagination might take them!
Parents and caregivers are the best educators, and at Taradale we learn and play together, adults and children alike. At our sessions you will begin to recognise the amazing learning potential in your child’s play, and find out how to best support and empower them at every step of their learning journey.
If you are interested, feel free to pop in for a visit. This will give you a good opportunity to get to know what happens on one of our sessions and talk to other families. If you think Playcentre is for you, we will help you through the joining process from there.
Families can contribute a termly donation of $25 to help maintain our resources and equipment.
Come and join us at Taradale Playcentre and find an incredible place to help you and your child to grow through play.
Playcentre welcomes all families with children from newborn to 6 years of age.
Playcentres also offer free parenting and early childhood education for parent members.
Playcentre is a family organisation where:
• we empower adults and children to work, play, learn and grow together
• we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and celebrate people’s uniqueness
• we value and affirm parents as the first and best educators of their children so that whānau are strengthened and communities enriched.
At Playcentre, early childhood education is a shared journey. We value parents as the first and best educators for their tamariki, which is why parents attend alongside their tamariki – to play, learn and grow together.
Whether you have a new pēpī, preschooler, or are new to a community, Playcentre provides a place for whānau and communities to come together.
If you care for tamariki aged 0-6, we invite you to visit and experience our affordable, unique, and child-led environment. Our centres encourage learning through free play and nurture imagination, confidence, and connection.
Our licensed early learning centres follow the Ministry of Education’s world-leading bicultural curriculum, Te Whāriki, offering 16 different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.
We also provide a free, NZQA-approved, adult education programme for enrolled whānau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.
We offer three visits before you enrol. Arrange a visit today and experience our supportive, fun and friendly community for yourself!
