Rachel joined MAPC in 2019 with her oldest and has had the roles of day coordinator, welcoming officer, co-president, and is now our cluster rep. Rachel completely embodies the playcentre spirit. She has strong relationships with all our tamariki and kaiako, and is the first one to greet you with a mōrena when you arrive on session. She’s always there after session doing odd jobs that no one else thinks about, like sweeping the playground or descaling our coffee machine.
Rachel was one of three members at MAPC to get her level 4 qualifications this year, and was instrumental in helping other kaiako achieve their qualifications – from guiding us in our fire and earthquake drills, to discussing learning stories over the phone during nap time, she has helped and encouraged us along the way.
We are so lucky to have Rachel to attend MAPC 3 days a week, and every session with Rachel runs so smoothly and she ensured all the tamariki and kaiako have a great time and feel supported. Ka pai Rachel!
